A day in this job

  • Mostly routine

Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, or bridges.

  • Mostly routine

Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.

  • Mostly routine

    Inspect parts for surface defects.

The tasks we can read here lean routine. That sits next to the AI risk rank — it is not a forecast that the job disappears.

Core tasks

  1. 01Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, or bridges.
  2. 02Install or program computer hardware or machine or instrumentation software in microprocessor-based systems.
  3. 03Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  4. 04Modify, maintain, or repair electrical, electronic, or mechanical components, equipment, or systems to ensure proper functioning.
  5. 05Inspect parts for surface defects.
  6. 06Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools.
